Welcome to Zion Mountain Ranch

This Homestead ranch community represents the Zion Mountain Ranch (ZMR) ideal, a pure portrait of the American Pioneer. When the first settlers ventured across the untamed west the phrase “architecture by necessity” was born. Timber, stone, mud mortar and brush became the elements of structure, and their boldness of character was spun through perseverance, self-reliance, free-spiritedness and sacrifice. These values became the iconic image of the Pioneers in their adventurous pursuit of home. The territory at The Homesteads at Buffalo Preserve surround residents with the purity of nature, protected open acreage, active wildlife corridors and majestic views. No surrounding perimeter is felt here because property lines adjacently blend with federal land and conservation easement. How satisfying to recognize that in several generations these Homesteads will be standing; no encroachment of commercialism or society can steal in, and it will all gently improve with age.

ZMR has deliberately and purposefully chosen to make permanent the role of the Buffalo, by having them roam in the heart acreage of this project under the permanent protection of a conservation land trust partnership. The Buffalo’s existence within this preservation brings to ZMR the lasting reverence of this creature’s part in our culture and history. We often end up neighbors to much less interesting things.

Our hope in this creation is to revolutionize the character of home, without compromise to the modern luxuries to which you’ve grown accustomed; to enrich it in the atmosphere of solitude, quiet reads by the hearth, the sounds and smell of nature and a renewed sense of adventure. Every effort will be made to preserve this pristine setting even after the community is established.

Unlike the pioneers who ventured for weeks to pick up supplies in horse drawn wagons, residents will not be so necessarily inconvenienced. Within 45 minutes in temperature controlled comfort and classical music you will arrive at all the modern conveniences while driving through some of the most beautiful canyon country in America; not a bad compromise.

The world is so small today. Daily business is conducted across the globe, communication happens in an instant, capital is exchanged along a wire, and travel to distant continents is achieved in a day. Imagine the possibilities of an active simpler life in a place where the modern world meets the past in perfect harmony; where land and nature are dominant and man is its guest; where time is a friend instead of a foe; where family will gather and Home is heavenly.
